Ethyl 3-Furoate is the ethyl ester derivative of 3-Furoic Acid (F863770) and is used as a reagent in the synthesis of disubstituted furan derivatives which exhibit antidiabetic activity. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of sulfonylfuran ureas as selective endothelial lipase inhibitors.
