Isopropyl nitrile is a useful solvent and building block, used in the Mn/Cu catalyzed synthesis of arylketones. The nitrile ylide of isopropyl nitrile has been used in [3+2] cycloadditions with with diazonium salts to form substituted 1,2,4-triazoles.
