A Zwitterionic detergent that stabilizes and solubilizes integral membrane proteins by breaking aggregates. Useful for proteins analysis and characterization by 2D-gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. Superior to CHAPS in solubilizing both an anion-channel and G-protein coupled receptor.
