4-Bromo-2-chloro-pyridine is a useful synthetic intermediate. It is used to synthesize 3-[[4-(2-Methoxyphenyl)-2-pyridinyl]amino]-benzenemethanesulfonamide (M265870) which is a potent CDK9 inhibitor in midline carcinoma therapy. It can also be used to prepare (pyrimidinylamino)benzamide derivatives that have anticancer activity as hedgehog signaling pathway inhibitor.
