Horseradish peroxidase (HRP), RZ 3.0 is a heme-containing enzyme commonly used in biochemical and proteomics research. This product is supplied as a lyophilized solid and is frequently conjugated to immunoglobulins. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) utilizes hydrogen peroxide to oxidize a wide variety of substrates including Luminol sodium salt, benzidine, DAB (3-3' diaminobenzidine tetrachloride) and TMP (tetramethylbenzidine). This oxidation reaction gives rise to a color change, thereby identifying the target molecule in a variety of assays such as Western blotting, ELISA and immunohistochemistry.
