Glutaconic Acid is used in the synthesis of dialkyltin derivatives of dicarboxylic acids which display antitumor properties. Also used in the synthesis of novel tetracyclic compounds as peripheral benzodiazepine receptor ligands with potential use for CNS illness treatments.
