1-(Trichloromethyl)-3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole-2(9H)-carbaldehyde is a proposed intermediate for the synthesis of (S)-1-Trichloromethyl-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-β-carboline (TaClo)(T774240), which is the S-enatiomer of the dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotoxin. Liver enzymes produces TaClo via catalysis reaction of Tricloroethane with Tryptamine (T894600). TaClo destroys dopamine-producing cells and is a molecule of importance in the study of Parkinson’s disease.
