Triphenylmethanethiol is a reagent used in the synthesis of diubiquitn-based photoaffinty probes that can capture ubiquitin-binding proteins. As well, its used in the synthesis of oligosaccharide conjugates in studying the function and relevance of certain carbohydrates.
