2-Bromo-5-chlorotoluene is a reagent used in the synthesis of morpholylureas as a new class of potent and selective inhibitors of the type 5 17-β-hydroxysteroid dehrydogenase (AKR1C3) (1). 2-Bromo-5-chlorotoluene is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of a series of aminopiperidines as novel iNOS inhibitors (2).
