5-(Bromomethyl)-2H-tetrazole is a reactant used in the preparation of different inhibitors. It is synthesized from 2-Bromoacetonitrile (B679045), which is a water disinfectant byproduct. 2-Bromoacetonitrile has been found to show mutagenic activity on Salmonella typhimurium strain TA100.
