It is a derivative of Di-tert-butyl Azodicarboxylate (D427950); a reagent used in the preparation of acyl hydrazinedicarboxylates via photoorganocatalytic hydroacylation of dialkyl azodicarboxylates with aldehydes in presence of phenylglyoxylic acid as photocatalyst.
