Isovaleryl Chloride is used as a reagent in the synthesis of NCT-501 and its analogs as potent and selective theophylline-based inhibitors of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1). Isovaleryl Chloride is also used in the preparation of merestinib, a MET inhibitor. This compound is suitable for aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) related research.
