YC 1 is a nitric oxide-independant activator of soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC). It causes elevation in cGMP levels and inhibits collagen-stimulated aggregation of platelets. Displays antiproliferative activity through its down-regulation of (HIF)-1 a key factor in tumor production.
