N-Boc-2-(4-bromophenyl)ethylamine is a reagent used in the preparation of second-generation dual inhibitors of Cysteine protease falcipain-​2 (FP-​2) and Plasmodium falciparum dihydrofolate reductase (PfDHFR) which are crucial to malarial parasites. Also used in the preparation of indole-2-carboxamides as novel allosteric modulators of the cannabinoid (CB-1) receptor.
