Cesium fluoride is used as a reagent in the synthesis of benzofurans and coumarins via three-component coupling of arynes with DMF and active methylenes or methines. Cesium fluoride is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of the first CNS-active carborane as a novel P2X7 receptor antagonist with antidepressant activity.
